The Primary Goal of the Basic Rider Course is to provide an introduction to the fundamentals of safe,responsible motorcycling. This includes the knowledge and skills that lead to licensing and operation on the streets and highways. Certified MSF Instructor provides a safe, positive learning environment. The Basic Rider course is designed to prepare you for entry into the complex driving scene.

CURRICULUM

We provide 5 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of on-motorcycle instruction. For more individual training, our class size is 6 students only. A handbook is provided for classroom participation. The riding portion consists of 10 hours of instruction including 17 exercises. All motorcycle instruction is conducted on a paved area away from street traffic. Student evaluation consists of a written, multiple-choice test and end of course skills test on the motorcycle.
Base Cost is $275.00.
Minimum 3 - Maximum 6 persons per class.

  • Valid Illinois Motorcycle Permit
    For Range

  • Long sleeve shirt or jacket and long pants
  • Over the ankle shoes or boots
  • Eye protection or glasses
  • Gloves (full fingered - preferably leather)
    NO EXCEPTIONS TO THE ABOVE REQUIREMENTS
  • Our program is designed to teach all driving situations that can be encountered in city, rural and express-way usage.

    FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

     What does the Motorcycle Riding Class cost?
    $275.00 Base Fee.
    Private lessons are available at $50.00 per hour with a 2 hour minimum with completed BRC.

     Do I need a motorcycle?
    No.

     What size motorcycle do you use?
    125 - 200 cc.

     Do I need a helmet?
    Yes.

     What if it rains?
    Classes run rain or shine - if rain is forecasted, bring rain gear.

     Do I need a license or permit to take class?
    Yes, a permit or motorcycle endorsement is required.

     How old do I need to be?
    18 or older.

     What if I am late or miss a class?
    Students must attend ALL classes, missing or late will automatically disqualify you!

     If I change my mind can I get my money back?
    If cancellation is done before 5 days of your class start date.
